Universal themes are a way to connect ideas across all disciplines. High ability students benefit from understanding people, events, and places as they explore a universal theme in all content areas. Fourth graders will learn about the theme of Change as it relates to science, math, social studies, art, literature, and current events. Students will examine the interrelationships among details, facts, and concepts and make meaning of what might initially seem disconnected.
The theme of Change is introduced first semester and the theme of Systems second semester.
