You may want to have your child celebrate his or her birthday at school. You are welcome to send a wrapped snack, fun pencils, erasers or other inexpensive treat that can be passed out before students leave for the day. Passing out a treat during lunch is another option. Our lunch period begins at 10:45 a.m. and ends by 11:15 a.m. Drinks are not needed. Another idea would be to donate a book to our classroom library! A nameplate with your child's name will be placed on the inside cover.
Snack
Students can bring a healthy snack to eat before lunch.
Lunch $$$
Lunch money can be brought in daily or weekly by cash or check. Please make sure money is placed in an envelope with your child's name and designated as lunch money.
Assignment Notebook
Assignment notebooks are given to students each nine weeks. This is an important tool for students to use daily. Students will record their homework assignments every morning as soon as they arrive. Parents are to sign the assignment notebook for the first four weeks of school. After this time I will not require a signature since I believe students are old enough to record and complete assignments on their own. Should a student have difficulty remembering assignments or using their notebook, I will ask that a parent sign each night until the issue is resolved.
Change in dismissal routine
Please send in a note in the morning indicating the change for that day(s). If the change is during the day, please call the office and a message will be sent to the classroom.
Medication
All medication is administered by our school nurse, Mrs. Suding. Medication should be clearly labeled and given to her for storage in her office. It is also important to let her know of any allergies your child may have.
Absence:
If your child is absent for any reason, they will have time to make up homework. If possible, please arrange doctor and dentist appointments after school or during school breaks. Missing school means missing class discussions, partner work, science labs, and many other daily events that are a part of our day.
Communication
The Remind app is a great way to get in touch with me. I will use it to communicate with you important reminders if needed during the day, before or after school. During the day, however, I may not get a message
